4.9% the Average decrease in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during November 2019

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for November 2019 by 4.9% compared with November 2018. (The Price Index reached 118.5 in November 2019 compared with 124.5 in November 2018).The most significant crops that contributed to this decrease were hot pepper 55.4%, green sweet pepper 46.0%, tomatoes 45.3%, green cabbage 40.6%, colored sweet pepper 39.5%, squash 39.2%, potatoes 38.7%, carrot 22.3%, spinach 21.3% and eggplants by 6.6%.( the total of their relative importance constituted 36.8% of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price index of cherry tomatoes 71.3%, apple 67.0%, lemon 51.2%, strawberry 47.2%, green maize 45.9%, olives 25.1%, cucumber 18.9%, cauliflower 14.1%, orange 13.7% and banana 11.9%. (the total of their relative importance constituted 63.2% of the total indicator value ) .

The report also shows that the Price Index has increased by 19.5% in November 2019 as compared with October 2019 (the price index reached 118.5 in November 2019 compared with 99.2 in October 2019). The most significant crops that contributed to this increase (the total of their relative importance constituted 46.6%) were colored sweet pepper 53.9%, olives 41.9%, green lettuce 30.3%,banana 27.3%, green sweet pepper 12.0%, hot pepper 11.6%, pomegranate 11.6%, lemon 9.6%, eggplants 5.7% and tomatoes 2.6%. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of cucumber 22.2%, green beans 21.4%, potatoes 19.0%, thyme 17.9%, spinach 16.1%, green beans 14.3%,turnip 14.2%, squash 13.5%, grapefruit 9.3% and orange 6.0% with a relative importance reached 53.4%.
