2.8% the Average Increase in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during Oct 2018

The data issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for Oct 2018 by 2.8% compared with Oct 2017. (The Price Index reached 108.1 in Oct 2018 compared with 105.2 in Oct 2017).The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were cucumber 45.8%, colored sweet pepper 144.9%, onion 59.4%, cauliflower 33.5%, peach 50.3%, potato 46.6%, squash 12.0%, pears 68.0%, jewsmallow 88.3% and cantaloupe by 92.6%.

( the total of their relative importance constituted 43.2%  of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of lemon, parsley, grapes, okra, orange, eggplants, maize, pomegranate clementine and green sweet pepper by ( 14.7%), (66.5%), (17.9%), (33.2%), (16.9%), (18.6%),(20.7%), (12.5%), (10.5%), (28.6%) respectively (the total of their relative importance constituted 56.8% of the total indicator value ) .

The report also shows that the Price Index has increased by 7.6% in Oct 2018 as compared with Sep 2018 (the price index reached 108.1 in Oct 2018 compared with 100.5 in Sep 2018). The most significant crops that contributed to this increase (the total of their relative importance constituted 56.0%) were tomato 111.3%, cucumber 41.5%, eggplants 35.0%, colored sweet pepper 75.4%, dates 100.1%, grapes 18.8%, peach 29.5%, potato 21.5%, onion 12.4% and guava 29.8%. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of apple, orange, maize, squash, lemon, clementine, lettuce, Chinese lettuce, cauliflower and strawberries by (40.6%), (18.8%), (19.2%), (8.6%), (3.4%), (5.5%), (36.5%), (34.1%), (3.6%) and (29.2%) respectively with a relative importance reached 44.0%.
