16.2% the Average Increase in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during Jan 2019

The data issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for Jan 2019 by 16.2% compared with Jan 2018. (The Price Index reached 86.1 in Jan 2019 compared with 74.1 in Jan 2018).The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were tomato 364.3%, cabbage 152.8%, eggplants 97.7%, cauliflower 77.6%, spinach 83.5%, cauliflower leaves 101.2%, squash 34.2%, potato 7.9%, sweet pepper 34.3% and broccolis by 270.1%.
( the total of their relative importance constituted 67.1% of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of cucumber, orange, lemon, carrot, fennel, strawberry, pommel, beet, green maize and sage by (38.2%), (20.7%), (22.8%), (25.4%), ( 19.5%), (19.1%), (15.6%), (29.3%), (6.8%) and (35.9%) respectively (the total of their relative importance constituted 32.8% of the total indicator value ) .
