6.0% is the Average decrease in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during February 2021

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for February 2021 by 6.0% compared with February 2020. (The Price Index reached 106.1 in February 2021 compared with 112.8 in February 2020).The most significant crops that contributed to this decrease were tomatoes by 74.2%, dry onion by 40.1%, cauliflower by 36.4%, eggplants by 33.8%, green beans by 33.6%, string beans by 33.4%, broccoli by 30.9%, Spinach by 27.5%, green cabbage by 26.7%, and green lettuce by 24.7%. (The total of their relative importance constituted 58.4% of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price index of mandarins by 113.6%, grapefruit by 85.9%, pommel by 52.5%, tangerine by 47.3%, clementine by 41.7%, bananas by 35.9%, cherry tomatoes by 33.6%, oranges by 32.0%, mushrooms by 28.9%, and potatoes by 11.2%. (The total of their relative importance constituted 41.6% of the total indicator value).
