Industrial Production Quantities increase by 4.2% during September 2017

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the General Industrial Index Number of the Industrial Production Quantities to 98.7 during Sep. 2017 against 94.7 during Sep 2016 which lead to an increase by 4.2% as compared with the same period of 2016. This increase resulted from a growth in the quantities of the Manufacturing Industries by 3.8% with a relative importance of 86.0% (representing an increase of 3.8 percentage points) and quantities of quarrying production by 6.2% with a relative importance of 8.2% (an increase of 0.2% percentage points) and the quantities of electricity production by 8.0% with the relative importance of 5.8% representing an increase of 0.2 percentage points.

The report indicates also a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production for Sep 2017 to 98.7 against 104.4 for Aug 2017 which lead to a decrease by 5.5%. This decrease was a result of a retreat in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 5.9% with a relative importance of 86.0% ( representing 4.9 percentage points) and the production quantities of electricity by 11.5% with a relative importance of 5.8% ( representing a decrease of 1.0 percentage points). Meanwhile, there was an increase in the quantities of quarrying production by 3.1% with a relative importance of 8.2% (representing an increase of 0.4 percentage points).
