Industrial Production Quantities decrease by 9.7% during March 2018
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Quantities for Mar 2018 to reach 86.0 against 95.1 for the same month of 2017 recording a decrease by 9.7%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production of manufacturing industries by 9.13 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%, quarrying industries by 0.29 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.24 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
The report also indicates an increase in the industrial index number of the industrial production for Mar 2018 to reach 86.0 against 84.4 for Feb of the same year which means an increase by1.9%. This has resulted mainly from an increase in the production quantities of the Manufacturing Industries by 1.73 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%, the quantities of quarrying production by 0.04 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.13 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
