2.4% the average decrease of the producer’s prices index for July 2019

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the producer’s prices index for July 2019 to reach 119.06 against 121.98 for the same month of 2018 recorded a decrease by 2.4%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the price of the manufacturing Industries by 2.59 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the price of Electricity production by 0.26 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% .Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price of quarrying production by 0.46 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2%.
The report indicates a decrease in the producer’s prices index for July 2019 to reach 119.06 against 121.56 compared with the previous month (June) of 2019 leading a decrease by 2.1%. This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the price of the manufacturing Industries by 1.85 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and quarrying production by 0.23 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price of electricity production by 0.02 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
During the first seven months of 2019 we notice that, there was an increase in the producer’s prices index to reach 120.21 against 119.76 for the same period of 2018 to record an increase by 0.4%.This mainly has resulted from an increase in the price of quarrying production by 0.90 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% . Meanwhile there was a decrease in the price of the manufacturing Industries by 0.38
