5.2% the average increase of Industrial producers’ prices for October 2017
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the General Industrial Price Index for Oct 2017 to reach 114.02 against 108.33 compared with same month 2016 recorded a growth of 5.2% compared with the same month of 2016. This mainly was a result of an increase in the manufacturing industries prices by 6.1% with a relative importance of 86.0%, this sector had contributed to the increase of the price index by 5.20 percentage points and the quarrying industries by 2.8% with a relative importance of 8.2% representing an increase of 0.22 percentage points.. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the electricity prices by 3.2% with a relative importance of 5.8% representing a decrease of 0.18 percentage points.
On the monthly level, the report indicates an increase in the General Industrial Prices Index for Oct 2017 to reach 114.02 against 112.79 for Aug of the same year to grow by 1.1%. This has resulted mainly from an increase in the manufacturing industries prices by 0.9% with a relative importance of 86.0% representing an increase of 0.79 percentage points, the quarrying industries by 3.5% with a relative importance of 8.2% representing an increase of 0.28 percentage points, and the electricity prices by 0.3%. with a relative importance of 5.8% representing an increase of 0.02 percentage points .
comparing the price index of the first ten months of 2017, it shows an increase in the Industrial producers’ prices to reach 112.22 against 108.58 by 3.4% compared with the same period of 2016; this mainly was a result of an increase in the manufacturing industries prices by 5.6% with a relative importance of 86.0% this sector had contributed to the increase of the price index by 4.52 percentage points .Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the Quarrying Industries Prices by 14.3% with a relative importance of 8.2% representing a decrease of 1.03 percentage points. and the price index of electricity prices by 2.8% with a relative importance of 5.8 % representing a decrease of 0.14 percentage points.
