1.3% the average increase of the producer’s prices index for May 2019
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the producer’s prices index for May 2019 to reach 122.15 against 120.60 for the same month of 2018 recorded an increase by 1.3%. This mainly was a result of an increase in the price of the manufacturing Industries by 0.79 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the price of quarrying production by 0.61 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price of electricity production by 0.10 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
The report indicates an increase in the producer’s prices index for May 2019 to reach 122.15 against 121.56 compared with the previous month (Apr) of 2019 leading an increase by 0.5%. This has resulted mainly from an increase in the price of the manufacturing Industries by 0.95 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%.Meanwhile there was a decrease in the price of quarrying production by 0.33 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the price of electricity production by 0.13 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
