Industrial Production Index Increases by 3.96% during May 2022
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the General Industrial Production Index for May 2022 to reach 95.63 against 91.99 for the same month of 2021 recording an increase by 3.96%. This mainly was a result of an increase in the index of manufacturing industries production by 2.94 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.01%, the index of quarrying industries production by 0.96 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.22%, and the index of electricity production of by 0.06 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.76%.
The report also indicates an increase in the general index of industrial production for May 2022 to reach 95.63 against 92.47 for April of the same year, to record an increase by 3.43%. This has resulted mainly from the increase in the index of the manufacturing industries production by 2.98 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.01% and the index of electricity production by 0.47 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.76%, while there was a decrease in index of the quarrying production by 0.02 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.22%.
