Industrial Production Index decrease by 5.5% during 2019
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Index for 2019 to reach 86.28 against 91.33 for the same period of 2018 recording a decrease by 5.53%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production index of manufacturing industries by 6.10 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%. Meanwhile ,there was an increase of the index number of the quarrying industries production by 0.46 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the index number of the quantities of electricity production by 0.11 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
The report also indicates a decrease in the industrial production index for December 2019 to reach 79.25 against 80.09 for November 2019 to record a decrease by 1.05%.This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the production index of the manufacturing Industries by 2.09 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the index number of the quantities of quarrying production by 0.23 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% . Meanwhile ,there was an increase in the index number of the quantities of the electricity production by 1.27 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%
