Unemployment Rate Reached 21,3% in Q1 2025
The Department of Statistics issued its quarterly report on employment and unemployment in Jordan for the 1st quarter of 2025, and the following demonstrates the main results:
- Unemployment rate (UNRATE) reached 21,3% in Q1 2025, indicating a decrease by 0,1 percentage point compared to 21,4% in Q1 2024.
- In the long term, UNRATE decreased by 1,5 percentage points over three years (compared to Q1 2022).
- Males’ UNRATE reached 18,6% during Q1 2025, an increase by 1,2 percentage points compared to Q1 2024.
- Females UNRATE reached 31,2% during Q1 2025, a decrease by 3,5 percentage points compared to Q1 2024.
- Compared to Q4 2024, males’ UNRATE increased by 0,4 percentage points and decreased among females by 1,0 percentage points.
