2.0% GDP growth rate at constant prices in the fourth quarter of 2022
The Department of Statistics issued the results of the preliminary quarterly estimates of the GDP at constant prices for the fourth quarter of 2022. The results show that growth reached 2.0% during the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of 2021 and growth reached 2.5% in 2022 compared with 2021.
At the level of economic sectors, preliminary estimations of economic sectors have shown a growth during the fourth quarter of 2022 compared with the fourth quarter of 2021. The results indicated that the Agriculture, Hunting, Forestry &Fishing Sector has achieved the highest growth rate by 4.8% with a contribution of 0.28 percentage points of the achieved growth rate, followed by Construction sector by 3.2% a contribution by 0.10 percentage points, then Manufacturing Industries Sector by 2.7% a contribution by 0.50 percentage points and finally the Wholesale, Retail Trade, Restaurants & Hotels Sector by 2.6% which means a contribution by 0.21 percentage points.
