24.8% Unemployment Rate during the Second Quarter of 2021
The Department of Statistics issued its quarterly report on the Unemployment Rate for the Second quarter of 2021; the following are the main results of this survey:
Unemployment:
- The results show that the Unemployment Rate has reached (24.8%) during the second quarter of 2021; representing a decrease by 0.2 percentage points from the first quarter of the same year, and with an increase by 1.9 percentage points from the second quarter of 2020.
- The Unemployment Rate for males has reached (22.7%) during the second quarter of 2021 against (33.1%) for females. It becomes clear that the Unemployment Rate has increased for males by 1.2 percentage points and for females by 4.5 percentage points compared with the second quarter of 2020.
- By comparing the unemployment rate for the second quarter with the first quarter of 2021, it is clear that the unemployment rate for males decreased by 1.5 percentage points, and increased for females by 4.6 percentage points.
