The Industrial Production Index Increased by 3.32% in May 2024
The Department of Statistics issued its monthly report on the Industrial Production Index which recorded an increase by 3.32% for May 2024 compared to the previous month of April 2024, and a decrease by (2.68%) compared to the same month (May) 2023. On the accumulative level, the Industrial Production Index for the first five months of 2024 has increased by 0.44% compared to the same period in 2023, noting that the base year has been modified to become (2018=100) instead of (2010=100).
Accordingly, the Industrial Production Index for May 2024 has reached 86.13 percentage points against 84.40 compared to the previous month of April 2024. the Industrial Production Index of May 2024 has reached 87.20 against 89.61 for the same month in 2023. At the accumulative level for the first five months of 2024, the Industrial Production Index has reached 85.50 compared to 85.12 for the same period in 2023.
