2.46% is the Increase of the Consumer Price Index for January 2022
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Consumer Price Index for January 2022 to reach 103.71 against 101.22 for the same month of 2021 recorded an increase by 2.46 %. This mainly was a result of the increase of Transportation by 1.12 percentage points, Vegetables and Legumes Dry and canned by 0.42 percentage points, Meat and Poultry by 0.22 percentage points, Fuels and Lighting by 0.19 percentage points and culture and entertainment by 0.13 percentage points. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price of Health by 0.08 percentage points, Beverages and Refreshments by 0.04 percentage points, Rents by 0.02 percentage points and Spices, food additives and other food by 0.02 percentage points.
