The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the producer’s price index for October 2023 by (2.37%) compared to the same month of 2022, while it increased by 1.07% compared to September 2023. On the accumulative level, the producer’s price index for the first ten months of 2023 has decreased by (4.54%) compared to the same period of 2022.
Accordingly, the producer’s price index for October 2023 has reached 138.22 against 141.58 for October 2022. The producer’s price Index for October 2023 recorded 138.22 against 136.76 for September 2023. On the accumulative level for the first ten months of 2023, the producer’s price Index had reached 135.61 against 142.06 for the same period of 2022.
On the commodity level, the main commodities that contributed to the decrease of the producer’s price Index for October 2023 compared to October 2022 are “the Prices of Manufacturing Industries” by (1.76%) with a relative importance of 86.0% and the “Prices of Quarrying Industries” by (13.43%) with a relative importance of 8.0%, while the “Prices of Electricity” has increased by 5.57% with a relative importance of 6.0%.
