Industrial Production Quantities decrease by 5.6% during November 2018
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Quantities for Nov 2018 to reach 92.4 against 97.9 for the same month of 2017 recording a decrease by 5.64%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of manufacturing industries by 5.25 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% , the production quantities of the quarrying Industries by 0.31 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.08 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
The report also indicates a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production quantities for Nov 2018 to reach 92.4 against 96.4 for Oct of the same year to record a decrease by 4.1%.This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 3.33 percentage points, the quantities of quarrying production by 0.39 percentage points and the quantities of electricity production by 0.41 percentage points .
Comparing the price index for the first eleven months of 2018, it shows a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production to reach 91.3 versus 97.3 in 2017 representing a decrease by 6.2%. This mainly was a result of a retreat in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 6.08 percentage points and the quantities of electricity production by 0.15 percentage points. Meanwhile, there was an increase in quantities of quarrying production by 0.05 percentage points .
