Industrial Production Quantities decrease by 2.2% during April 2019
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Quantities for April 2019 to reach 86.1 against 88.0 for the same period of 2018 recording a decrease by 2.2%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of manufacturing industries by 3.30 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%, Meanwhile ,there was an increase of quarrying industries production by 0.93 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.20 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% .
The report also indicates a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production quantities for April 2019 to reach 86.1 against 88.0 for Mar 2019 to record a decrease by 2.2%.This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 2.40 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% , the quantities of the electricity production by 0.60% percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%, while there was an increase in the quantities of quarrying production by 0.78 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2%.
