-2.2% GDP decrease rate at constant prices in the third quarter of 2020
The Department of Statistics issued the results of the preliminary quarterly estimates of the GDP at fixed prices for the third quarter of 2020. The results show that the decrease rate reached -2.2% during the third quarter of 2020 compared with growth rate that reached 1.9% at the same quarter of 2019.
At the level of economic sectors, preliminary estimations of most sectors have shown a retreat during the third quarter of 2020 compared with the third quarter of 2019. The results indicated that the Restaurants & Hotels Sector has achieved the highest decrease rate at -9.1%, followed by Transport, Storage & Communications Sector by -6.3%, then the Social & Personal Services Sector by -4.5% , Constructions Sector by -4.1% and finally the Manufacturing Industries Sector contributed by -3.2%.
