1.1% the average decrease in the prices of wholesale trade for the third quarter of 2019
Quarterly report issued by the Department of Statistics on the wholesale trade prices for the third quarter of 2019, indicates a decrease in the wholesale trade prices by 1.1% to reach 97.3 in 2019 compared with 98.4 during the same period in 2018. This was a result of a decrease in the prices of the group of “ sale of fuel, metal &construction materials & fittings” by 3.4% which represent 0.73 percentage points and “Sale of machinery, equipment and supplies” by 6.0%, which represents 0.57 percentage points, the prices of “sale of garments, clothes and housing and personal commodities” by 1.1%, this group has decreased the index number by 0.12 percentage points which their relative importance constituted 20.8%, 9.3% and 10.9% respectively.
The group of ” motor vehicles and their parts and motorcycles” has increased by 0.9% which represents 0.18 percentage points as well as the group of “trade of raw agricultural materials ,cereals and food products, beverages & tobacco” by 0.4% which represents 0.16% and which their relative importance constituted 19.8% and 39.2% respectively.
