16.1% the Average increase in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during November 2020

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for November 2020 by 16.1% compared with November 2019. (The Price Index reached 137.6 in November 2020 compared with 118.5 in November 2019). The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were tomatoes 164.2%, Grapefruits by 116.2%, Carrots by 110.2%, Green Cabbage by 73.1%, Clementina by 45.6%, Hot Pepper by 40.8%, Spinach by 31.5%, Guava by 27.4%, Sweet Pepper by 20.8% and Oranges by 19.7%, (the total of their relative importance constituted 55.7% of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of Lettuce by 40.2%, Squash by 25.6%, cherry Tomatoes by 25.5%, Dates by 25.3%, Okra by 24.4%, Kumquat by 20.9%, Cowpeas by 20.3%, Olives by 20.0%, Dry Onion by 19.3% and Bananas by 16.8%. (The total of their relative importance constituted 44.3% of the total indicator value.)
