5.1% the Average Decrease in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during July 2019

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for July 2019 by 5.1% compared with July 2018. (The Price Index reached 86.9 in July 2019 compared with 91.6 in July 2018).The most significant crops that contributed to this decrease were watermelon 57.7%, cantaloupe 53.5%, tomatoes 49.6%, snake cucumber 48.4%, apricot 30.7%, eggplants 21.6%, lemon 15.9%, grapes 14.3%, peaches 12.5% and dry onion by 9.5%.
( the total of their relative importance constituted 60.9% of the total crops).

Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price index of green lettuce 141.5%, red cabbage 119.9%, pomegranate 101.5, spinach 56.3%, figs 51.4%, grape leaves 51.2%, cauliflower 29.2%, apples 29.1% ,potatoes 26.4% and colored sweet pepper by 0.6%. the (The total of their relative importance constituted 39.1% of the total crops.)
