3.1% the Average decrease in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during September 2018

The data issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for September 2018 by 3.1% compared with September 2017. (The Price Index reached 100.5 in September 2018 compared with 103.7 in September 2017). The most significant crops that contributed to this decrease were tomatoes (70.2%), lemon (29.0%), okra (31.2%), string beans (43.2%), guava (19.6%), cabbage (55.6%), green pepper (28.0%), eggplants (15.1%), maize (23.6%) and scallion (41.3%).( the total of their relative importance constituted 56.0% of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price index of onions, apples, potato, squash, Chinese lettuce, colored sweet pepper ,Jews mallow ,plum ,melon and lettuce  by 58.5%, 96.2%, 43.1%, 38.9%, 136.7%, 45.7%, 40.5%, 41.0%, 51.8% and 43.1% respectively (the total of their relative importance constituted 44.0% of the total indicator value ) .
