Total exports increased by 1.9% during the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023

The Department of Statistics issued its monthly report on external trade in Jordan, indicating that total exports increased by 1.9% during the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, while imports increased by 0.8%. Notably, re-exports increased by 34.7%, contributing 9% to total exports. In contrast, national exports experienced a decrease of (0.7%), making up 91% of total exports. As a result, the trade balance deficit decreased by (0.3%) during the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

Regarding the values of External Trade, total exports from the beginning of the year until the end of July 2024 reached 5,366 million JDs, with national exports amounted to 4,857 million JDs and re-exports totaling 509 million JDs. Meanwhile, imports during the same period amounted to 10,742 million JDs. Consequently, the trade balance deficit—which represents the difference between total exports and total imports—reached (5,376) million JDs by the end of July 2024, compared to (5,391) million JDs in the same period of 2023.
