Industrial Production Quantities decrease by 6.0% during October 2018
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Quantities for Oct 2018 to reach 96.3 against 102.4 for the same month of 2017 recording a decrease by 6.0%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of manufacturing industries by 5.77 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the production quantities of the quarrying Industries by 0.42 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .Meanwhile the quantities of electricity production increased by 0.22 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
On the other hand the industrial index number of the industrial production quantities for Oct 2018 to reach 96.3 against 94.7 for Sep of the same year to record an increase by 1.7%.This has resulted mainly from an increase in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 1.84 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the quantities of quarrying production by 0.23 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .Meanwhile the quantities of electricity production decreased by 0.37 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%
Comparing the price index for the first ten months of 2018, it shows a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production to reach 91.1 versus 97.2 in 2017 representing a decrease by 6.2%. This mainly was a result of a retreat in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 6.18 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.16 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%. Meanwhile, there was an increase in quantities of quarrying production by 0.09 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2%.
