Licensed building areas for residential purposes increased by 10.7% during the first seven months of 2026.
The Department of Statistics (DoS) issued its monthly report on construction activity and building permits in Jordan during the first seven months of 2026.
The total area of buildings licensed by the Greater Amman Municipality and other municipalities during the first seven months of 2026 reached 5.84 million square meters, compared to 5.58 million square meters for the same period in 2025, representing an increase of 4.7%. The total number of building permits issued reached 14,361, compared to 14,124 permits during the same period in 2025, representing an increase of 1.7%.
