International Youth Day
Jordan participates in the global celebration of International Youth Day, which falls on August 12th of each year. This day was established by the United Nations in 1991, emerged from the need to raise the awareness of global issues related to youths.
There is no doubt that celebrating this category of the population has its own significance and importance as it is the main source of future builders and leaders in any society, especially in Jordan. The population estimates prepared by the Department of Statistics indicate that one-fifth of the population in the Kingdom is among the youth in the age group (15-24) years, as their number reached about 2.246 million out of the total population of Jordan estimated at 11.302 million at the end of 2022.
