10.6% the Average increase in Agricultural Producers’ Prices for November 2017
The Data issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for Nov 2017 by 10.6% compared with Nov 2016. (The Price Index reached 110.6 in Nov 2017 compared with 100.0 in Nov 2016).The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were Tomato 33.7%, clementine 27.2%, Orang 27.4%, cauliflower 47.9%, Lemons 15.5%, Spanish 50.0%, colored sweet pepper 46.5%, squash 19.5%, potato 24.7%, green sweet pepper 39.5%, the total of their relative importance constituted 68.0% of the total indicator value).
Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of Cucumber, maize, olives, string beans ,pomegranate, cantaloupe, bananas, turnip , persimmon and sage by 47.0%, 39.9%, 18.4%, 7.1%, 11.6%, 83.6%, 1.2%, 19.7%, 17.5% and 17.4% respectively (the total of their relative importance constituted 31.0% of the total indicator value).
The agriculture crop which witnessed no change in prices was Strawberries with a relative importance of 1.0%
The report also shows that the Price Index has increased by 4.8% in Nov 2017 as compared with Oct 2017 (the price index reached 110.6 in Nov 2017 compared with 105.5 in Nov 2017). The most significant crops that contributed to this increase (the total of their relative importance constituted 39.0%) were potato 34.9%, olives 15.2%, Tomato 5.7%, apples 12.0%, sweet green pepper 14.0%, pomegranate 21.7%, date 79.7%, colored sweet pepper 10.6%, hot pepper 10.1% and Jews mallow 110.9% . Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of Cucumber, eggplants, green cabbage, cauliflower, orang, lemon, Spanish , clementine, parsley and string beans by 34.1%, 28.7%, 61.0%, 27.5%, 9.0%, 7.3%, 24.9%, 4.5%, 23.8% and 19.1% respectively with a relative importance of 61.0%.
On the accumulative level, the Price Index of Agricultural Producers has increased by 11.8% for the first eleven months of 2017 as compared with the same period of 2016 (the accumulative price index reached 111.8 for 2017 compared with 100.0 for the same period of 2016). The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were tomato by 66.5%, sweet green pepper 43.9%, colored sweet pepper 35.2%, hot pepper 34.2%, eggplants 20.3%, string beans 13.7%, cauliflower12.8%, squash 11.1% and potato 6.5%% with a relative importance of 77.2%. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of cucumber and banana by 4.8%, 1.6% respectively with a relative importance of 22.8%.
