5.46% is the average increase in the prices of Wholesale Trade for 2022
The annual report of the wholesale trade prices issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the prices of the wholesale trade by 5.46% for 2022 to reach 104.24 compared with 98.84 during 2021. This increase has resulted from the increase in prices of “sale of fuel, metals and construction materials and fittings” by 11.32%, “sale of agricultural raw materials, grains, food, beverages and tobacco” by 3.48%, “sale of Motor Vehicles Group and their Parts and motorcycles” by 4.63%, “sale of machinery, equipment and supplies” by 6.13% and “sale of textiles, clothing and personal housing products” by 2.68%.
The report also indicates an increase in the wholesale trade general index number for the fourth quarter of 2022 to reach 105.06% compared with 100.55% for the same period of 2021 recording an increase by 4.49%. This increase has resulted from the increase in the prices of “sale of Motor Vehicles Group and their Parts and motorcycles” by 6.88%, “sale of agricultural raw materials, grains, food, beverages and tobacco” by 3.24%, “sale of fuel, metals and construction materials and fittings” by 5.09%, “sale of machinery, equipment and supplies” by 6.06% and “sale of textiles, clothing and personal housing products” by 2.25%.
