0.6% the average decrease in the prices of wholesale trade of 2019
The annual report issued by the Department of Statistics on the wholesale trade prices of 2019, indicates a decrease in the wholesale trade prices by 0.6% to reach 97.6 in 2019 compared with 98.2 during the same period in 2018. This was a result of a decrease in the prices of the group of “Sale of machinery, equipment and supplies” by 6.9% which represent 0.67 percentage points , “sale of fuel, metal &construction materials & fittings” by 1.4%, which represents 0.31 percentage points and the prices of “sale of garments, clothes and housing and personal commodities” by 1.2%, this group has decreased the index number by 0.13 percentage points which their relative importance constituted 9.3%, 20.8% and 10.9% respectively. “
The group of ” trade of raw agricultural materials ,cereals and food products, beverages & tobacco” has increased by 0.8% which represents 0.32 percentage points as well as the group of “ motor vehicles and their parts and motorcycles” by 0.9% which represents 0.20 percentage points and which their relative importance constituted 39.2% and 10.9% respectively.
The report on the general wholesale trade price index, indicates a decrease by 0.3% to reach 97.0 in the fourth quarter of 2019 compared with 97.3 in the third quarter of 2019.
