4.25% the increase of General Consumer Price Index For February 2023
The monthly report on inflation in Jordan issued by the Department of Statistics indicates that the Consumer Price reached 108.32 in February 2023 against 103.90 during the same month of 2022 recorded an increase by 4.25%. The main commodities groups, which contributed to this increase, were “Fuel & lighting” by 31.82 %, “Furniture, carpets &Mattresses” by 10.39 %, “Culture &Recreation” by 10.37 %, “Oils& fats” by 9.52 % and “Restaurants &hotels” by 9.50 %.
On the accumulative level, the average Consumer Price index for the first two months of this year has reached 107.97 against 103.81 for the same period of 2022 with an increase of 4.01%.
The main commodities groups which contributed to this increase were Fuel & lighting” by 31.82 %, “Furniture, carpets &Mattresses” by 10.41 %, “Culture &Recreation” by 10.39 %,
“Restaurants &hotels” by 9.48 % and “Oils& fats” by 9.46 %.
