2.01% is the increase of the Consumer Price Index for August 2021
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Consumer Price Index for August 2021 to reach 102.68 against 100.66 for the same month of 2020 recorded an increase by 2.01 %. This mainly was a result of the increase of Transportation by 1.04 percentage points, Meat and Poultry by 0.41 percentage points, Fuels and Lighting by 0.23 percentage points and Oils and Fats by 0.11 percentage points. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price of Fruits and Nuts by 0.11 percentage points, Health by 0.05 percentage points, Clothes by 0.04 percentage points and Drinks and Beverages by 0.03 percentage points.
