3.59% is the Increase of the Consumer Price Index for April 2022
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Consumer Price Index for April 2022 to reach 105.99 against 102.31 for the same month of 2021 recorded an increase by 3.59%. This mainly was a result of the increase of Fuels and Lighting by 1.28 percentage points, Transportation by 0.73 percentage points, Vegetables and Legumes Dry and canned by 0.43 percentage points, Meat and Poultry by 0.19 percentage points and Oils and Fats by 0.16 percentage points. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price of Rents by 0.02 percentage points, Beverages and Refreshments by 0.01 percentage points, Spices, food additives and other food by 0.01percentage points and Housewares by 0.003 percentage points.
