Agricultural Producers Price Index Increased by 3.8% in 2025
The Department of Statistics (DOS) issued its monthly report for the year 2025 on the Agricultural Producers Price Index (APPI), which recorded an increase in the prices of agricultural producers by 3.8% in 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, a decrease in December 2025 by (17.4%) compared to December 2024, and a decrease by (22.5%) compared to November 2025.
Accordingly, the cumulative APPI for 2025 has reached 113.5 compared to 109.4 for the same period in 2024. Additionally, the APPI of December 2025 recorded 89.4 compared to 108.3 in December 2024 and 115.5 in November 2025.
Comparing the cumulative APPI of 2025 with 2024, prices for several crops have increased with a relative importance of 30.6%, most notably: Bananas by 21.7%, Chili Peppers by 15.2%, and Green Sweet Peppers by 10.5%. Meanwhile, the price index witnessed a decrease in the prices of several crops with a relative importance of (69.4%), most notably: Potatoes by (39.5%), Tomatoes by (26.7%), and the Colored Sweet Peppers by (22.0%).
