The Agricultural Producer’s Price Index increased by 1.2% during September 2024

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Agricultural Producer’s Price Index for September 2024 by 1.2% compared with the same month in 2023. The Price index reached 100.2 in September 2024, compared with 99.0 in September 2023. The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were Grapes by 69.2%, Green Maize by 60.7%, Olives by 41.5%, Potatoes by 35.1%, and Strawberries by 33.7%. The relative importance of the crops with rising prices constituted 55.5% of the total number of commodities in the indicator

Conversely, there was a decrease in the price index of Tomatoes by (55.2%), Green Cabbage by (49.6%), Green Sweet Peppers by (34.6%), Green Onions by (30.6%), and Cauliflower by (23.5%). The relative importance of the crops which prices decreased reached 44.5% of the total number of commodities in the indicator.
