8.3% the Average decrease in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during October 2019
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for October 2019 by 8.3% compared with October 2018. (The Price Index reached 99.2 in October 2019 compared with 108.1 in October 2018). The most significant crops that contributed to this decrease were colored sweet pepper 49.8%, lettuce 45.1%, hot pepper 44.3%, tomatoes 43.9%, carrot 34.7%, cauliflower 30.3%, okra 27.5%, dry onion 25.8%, peaches 21.4% and grapes by 18.6%.
(the total of their relative importance constituted 60.1% of the total indicator value).
Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price index of cherry tomatoes 156.0%, strawberry 81.6%, persimmon 78.4%, green maize 63.4%, string beans 37.0%, grape leaves 35.5%, lemon 27.2%, apple 21.4%, clementine 19.4% and orange 16.7%.
