Agricultural Producers Price Index Increased by 6.9% During the First Ten Months of 2025

The Department of Statistics (DOS) released its monthly report for the year 2025 on the Agricultural Producers Price Index (APPI), which recorded an increase in the prices of agricultural producers by 6.9% in the first ten months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, an increase in October 2025 by 14.6% compared to October 2024, and a decrease by (0.99%) compared to September 2025.

Accordingly, the cumulative APPI for the first ten months of 2025 has reached 115.7 compared to 108.2 for the same period in 2024. Additionally, the APPI of October 2025 recorded 116.8 compared to 101.9 in October 2024 and 117.9 in September 2025.

Comparing the first ten months of 2025 with the same period in 2024, prices of several crops have increased, most notably: Chili Peppers by 29.5%, Green Sweet Peppers by 23.7%, and Bananas by 21.6%, with a relative importance of 63.5%. Meanwhile, the average APPI witnessed a decrease in the prices of several crops, most notably: Potatoes by (35.8%), Colored Sweet Peppers by (17.4%), and Eggplants by (15.9%), with a relative importance of (36.5%).
