6.3% the Average decrease in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during September 2019
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for September 2019 by 6.3% compared with September 2018. (The Price Index reached 91.6 in September 2019 compared with 97.7 in September 2018). The most significant crops that contributed to this decrease were colored sweet pepper 46.5%, apple 30.6%, grapes 30.2%, Jews mallow 25.6%, okra 23.8%, cauliflower 22.6%, pomegranate 17.8%, dry onion 17.6%, squash 16.2% and hot pepper by 15.6%.
( the total of their relative importance constituted 55.0% of the total indicator value).
Meanwhile, there was an increase in the price index of string beans by 72.1%, grape leaves 59.4%, cucumber 43.4%, tomatoes 30.4%, Jews mallow leaves 23.8%, lemon 21.4%, guava 16.3%, green maize 13.8%, orange 8.8% and egg plants by 8.4%, (the total of their relative importance constituted 45.0% of the total indicator value ) .
