18.5%The Unemployment Rate during the third quarter of 2017
The Department of Statistics issued its quarterly report on the Unemployment Rate
during the third quarter of 2017 .The following are the main results of this survey:
Unemployment:
- The results show that the Unemployment Rate has reached 18.5% during the third quarter of 2017; the Unemployment Rate for males has reached 15.4% while it was 30.0 % for females for the same quarter.
- The Unemployment Rate has increased for the third quarter by 0.5 percentage points compared with the second quarter of 2017.
- Taking gender into consideration, it becomes clear that the Unemployment Rate has increased for males by 2.0 percentage points and for females decreased by 3.9 percentage points compared with the second quarter of the same year.
