The General Price Index of Wholesale Trade Increased by 5.49% during the 3rd quarter of 2022

The quarterly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Price Index of Wholesale Trade in the 3rd quarter of 2022 by 5.49% compared with the same period of 2021. This mainly was a result of an increase in the price of “Sale of Fuel, Metals, and Construction Materials and Fittings” group by 12.03%, “Sale of Machinery, Equipment and Supplies” group by 6.85%, “Sale of Motor Vehicles and their parts and Motorcycles” group by 4.89%, “Sale of Agricultural Raw Materials, Grains, Food, Beverages and Tobacco” group by 2.99%, and “Sales of Textiles, Clothing and Personal and Household Goods” group by 2.44%.

The average of the general index for the nine months of 2022 increased by 5.79% compared with the same period of 2021. This mainly was a result of an increase in the prices of “Sale of Fuel, Metals, and Construction Materials and Fittings” group by 13.57%, and the prices of the “Sale of Machinery, Equipment and Supplies” group by 6.15%. %, the prices “Sale of Motor Vehicles and their parts and Motorcycles” group by 3.88%, the prices of “Sale of Agricultural Raw Materials, Grains, Food, Beverages and Tobacco” group by 3.56%, and the prices of “Sales of Textiles, Clothing and Personal and Household Goods” group by 2.82%.
