18.90% the average increase of the Producer’s Price Index for May 2022

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Producer’s Price Index for May 2022 to reach 145.71 against 122.54 for the same month of 2021 recorded an increase by 18.90%. The main commodities groups which contributed to this increase were the price index of the Manufacturing Industries by 17.63 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.01% , the price index of Quarrying industries by 1.83 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.22% .Meanwhile ,there was a decrease in  the prices index of Electricity by 0.55 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.76%.

The report also indicates a decrease in the producer’s price index for May 2022 to reach 145.71 against 145.83 compared with the previous month (April) of 2022 leading a decrease by 0.08%. This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the price index of the Electricity production by 1.01 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.76%.

Meanwhile ,there was an increase in the price of manufacturing production by 0.42 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.01% and the price of Quarrying production by 0.51 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.22%.
