1.0% the average decrease of Industrial Producer’s prices during February 2019
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial price index for Feb 2019 to reach 118.30 against 119.49 for the same month of 2018 recorded a decrease by 1.0%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 2.05 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and quantities of electricity production by 0.26 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% . Meanwhile, there was an increase in the quantities of quarrying production by 1.31 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .
The report also indicate a decrease in the industrial price index of the industrial production for Feb 2019 to reach 118.30 against 118.63 compared with the previous month (Jan) of the same year leading a decrease by 0.3%. This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the quarrying Industries prices by 0.45 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .Meanwhile, there was an increase in the manufacturing industries prices by 0.15 percentage points with a relative importance 86.0% and electricity prices by 0.02 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% .
During the first two months of 2019, it shows an increase in the industrial index number of the industrial producer to reach 118.46 against 118.23 by 0.2% compared with the same period of 2018; this mainly was a result of an increase in the quarrying Industries by 0.63 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%.
Meanwhile there was a decrease in the price index of manufacturing industries by 0.35 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and electricity prices by 0.09 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
