Industrial Production Quantities increase by 2.0% during March 2019 compared with the same period of 2018
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the General Industrial Production Quantities for Mar 2019 to reach 87.1 against 85.4 for the same period of 2018 recording an increase by 2.0%. This mainly was a result of an increase in the production quantities of manufacturing industries by 1.51 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.53 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% . Meanwhile ,there was a decrease of quarrying industries production by 0.09 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .
The report also indicates an increase in the industrial index number of the industrial production quantities for Mar 2019 to reach 87.1 against 84.7 for Feb 2019 to record an increase by 2.9%.This has resulted mainly from an increase in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 2.14 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% , the quantities of the quarrying production by 0.38% percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.35 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%.
Comparing the production indices for the 1st three months of 2019, there was a decrease in the industrial production quantities to reach 87.7 against 88.0 for the same period of 2018, leading to a decrease in the index number of the industrial production by 0.4%.
