Industrial Production Quantities decrease by 6.1% during 2018

The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Quantities for Dec 2018 to reach 91.3 against 97.2 for the same period of 2017 recording a decrease by 6.1%. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of manufacturing industries by 6.00 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0% and the quantities of electricity production by 0.13 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% .Meanwhile ,there was an increase of quarrying industries production by 0.04 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2%.
The report also indicates a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production quantities for Dec 2018 to reach 91.8 against 96.6 for the same month of the same year of 2017 to record a decrease by 5.0%.This has resulted mainly from a decrease in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 5.06 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%, the quantities of quarrying production by 0.06 percentage points with a relative importance of 8.2% .Meanwhile, there was an increase in the quantities of electricity production by 0.11 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% .

On monthly level ,the report indicates a decrease in the industrial index number of the industrial production for Dec 2018 to reach 91.8 versus 92.3 in for Nov 2018 representing a decrease by 0.6%. This mainly was a result of a retreat in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 3.30 percentage points. Meanwhile, there was an increase in the quantities of quarrying production by 1.33 percentage points and the quantities of electricity production by 1.35 percentage points
