Industrial Production Quantities decrease by 4.8% during July
The monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics indicates a decrease in the General Industrial Production Quantities for July 2018 to reach 94.5 against 99.3 for the same month of 2017 recording a decrease by 4.8% as compared with same month 2017. This mainly was a result of a decrease in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 4.51 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0%, the quantities of electricity production by 0.52 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8%. Meanwhile, there was an increase in the quantities of the quarrying industries by 0.20 percentage points which has the relative importance of 8.2%
The report also indicates an increase in the industrial index number of the industrial production for July 2018 to reach 94.5 against 89.4 for June 2018 to grow by 5.7%. This has resulted mainly from an increase in the production quantities of the manufacturing Industries by 5.18 percentage points with a relative importance of 86.0 and the quantities of electricity production by 0.85 percentage points with a relative importance of 5.8% while there was a decrease in the quantities of electricity production by 0.36 percentage points which has the relative importance of 8.2%.
