12.8% the Average Increase in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during Nov 2018

The data issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for Nov 2018 by 12.8% compared with Nov 2017. (The Price Index reached 124.8 in Nov 2018 compared with 110.6 in Nov 2017).The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were colored sweet pepper 182.9%, squash 54.4%, cabbage 119.2%, cucumber 20.1%, eggplants 42.6%, banana 13.2%, potato 26.3%, spinach 36.2%, hot pepper 42.7% and olives by 9.2%.

( the total of their relative importance constituted 59.7%  of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of parsley, lemon, orange, apple, maize, tomato, pomegranate, okra, strawberry and carrot by ( 69.7%), (15.2%), (11.7%), (28.6%), (15.7%), (4.9%),(26.4%), (17.2%), (26.2%), (15.4%) respectively (the total of their relative importance constituted 40.3% of the total indicator value ) .

The report also shows that the Price Index has increased by 15.4% in Nov 2018 as compared with Oct 2018 (the price index reached 124.8 in Nov 2018 compared with 108.1 in Oct 2018). The most significant crops that contributed to this increase (the total of their relative importance constituted 63.4%) were squash 39.8%, green sweet pepper 76.8%, olives 27.7%, clementine 10.7%, eggplants 25.0%, banana 14.0%, hot pepper 39.5%, potato 16.3%, colored sweet pepper 27.8% and tomato 5.4%. Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of cucumber, cauliflower, parsley, lemon, apple, orange, turnip, carrot, fennel and beet by (45.8%), (39.6%), (31.1%), (7.9%), (24.7%), (3.3%), (45.9%), (13.9%), (55.2%) and (46.4%) respectively with a relative importance reached 36.6%.
