3.7% the Average increase in Agricultural Producers’ Prices during September 2017

The Data issued by the Department of Statistics indicates an increase in the Average Agricultural Producers’ Price Index for Sep 2017 by 3.7% compared with Sep 2016. (The Price Index reached 103.7 in Sep 2017 compared with 100.0 in Sep 2016).The most significant crops that contributed to this increase were tomatoes 85.8%, colored sweet pepper 128.4%, cabbage 115.0%, peach 19.6%, green sweet pepper 77.0%, lemon 13.2%, okra 28.0%, pomegranate 17.2%, cherry  155.6% and cauliflower 13.5%.( the total of their relative importance constituted 48.0% of the total indicator value).

Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the price index of squash, onion , cucumber, guava, Jews mallow, cantaloupe, dates, maize, cut Jews mallow leaves and parsley by 40.3%, 19.2%, 8.1%, 12.2%, 30.9%, 43.9%, 12.3%, 17.3%, 18.7% and 27.5% respectively (the total of their relative importance constituted 52.0% of the total indicator value).
